Good Year So Far for the Huckleberry

So, my aussies are Champions.  It's true.  Not only in the pretty world of conformation, where they both 'stacked up' very well thank you, thanks to their excellent breeding and showing by Linda Buell of Woodstock Aussies - but also in agility.  That's where we play and play hard.

Agility. We. Love. It.

Occasionally new title certificates will come in the mail.  Also occasionally they will come in as unexpected surprises because I've miscalculated and thought we had to get a few more qualifying runs (Q's) to get a new title.  And I've been happily wrong at least twice this year.

The first surprise was getting this little gem.  Jemima - my Blue Huckleberry - ended up in the Performance Top 10 in USDAA in three different categories last year.  As in all breeds and mixed breeds.  As in the nation.

She helped me with the display.

Good thing I had trimmed her feet the week before.

Her breeder noticed this feature.

:)
Feet not so neat in this one.

The next surprise came earlier this week.  By my calculations, Jemima needed a couple more Q's to get her 8th Agility Trial Championship, or ATCH.  ATCH-VIII.  The ASCA office thought differently.  I like their caculations better.

Let's see ... 20 Regulars/10 Gamblers/10 Jumpers per ATCH.  So 40 per ATCH = 320 qualifying runs.  Plus the beginning 5 she needed to get into this category.  325 clean runs.  That doesn't begin to count the 'training' runs we've had over her career.  She's a pro now.  She's 9.

That's right.  We all that.

And this week, we got another package in the mail, with a few titles that added up to a big one - her Bronze Agility Dog Championship, or Br-ADCH!  Totally different venue - the United States Dog Agility Association, USDAA.  Huzzah to the Huckleberry!!!

And the Vixenator earned her Masters Gamblers title! My little superstaaahhhhh in the making.  Now SHE keeps me on my toes!

A seat in the shade never felt so good.

And finally, a couple of weekends ago up in Woodland, CA, my friend Laurie and her blue boy Pippin teamed with Jemima & me in USDAA, and we Q'd.  Very hot, but very happy day!!!
Team name - The Blue Angels - complete with official hats.
