Perfect quote for October from my work calendar. It has twelve beautiful pictures of roads and every time I look at it, I long for a trip. I get my wish tomorrow, in spades!
I was greeted first thing this morning with a rare, dull, persistant headache. So tied up loose ends at work until just past noon, paid my dentist a quick visit, and then home to kick the unwelcome visitor out. I rarely take sick time, and was super grateful for it. Ibuprofen and a power nap. Devil out!!! That helped a little.
Walked to town with the dogs to pick up the Acura - good to go! My awesome mechanic managed to squeeze the car into his already booked day. Loaded up the rest of my stuff. Agility clothes/shoes/gear. Towels for the rain. Rain boots. (If I pack rain gear, it pleases the rain gods, and sends all rain west, right?) Motel crates. Leopard pillows and blanket for the motels. Little red harnesses for the little fur kids. Audio books. CDs. Maps. Love maps. Treats. Water. Still roomy and comfy. Good mpg and fast. Thank you, Mona!

My co-pilot awaits the adventure |
Loaded up Jr, and hung some road juju from the mirror ... my fearlessness necklace ... a Vixenator necklace from friend Kristi ... and a Jemima Superstar necklace complete with a little paw print. I'll probably toss in some sage in the morning.
During our trip to Texas for the Nationals last year, Vixen revealed that she does NOT like road bumps, and she especially does not like it when the tires occasionally oh-so-slightly even touch those blasted but appreciated 'vibration' strips on the side of the highway. Of course I don't like it either, and do my best to stay between the lines. Anyway - when and if the car vibrates, she not happy. It's one big reason I'm not flying them out.

Always the model |
And since she's not the road warrior I am, I picked up a Thundershirt yesterday, thinking it might help her out. We tried it on tonight.

Zzzzzzz ... |
She fell asleep within 5 minutes. I think it works.

Jemima is obviously very concerned. She's no daisy.
Okay! Toenails are painted. Important stuff. And we're 90% loaded up and heading out in the morning! Zzzzzz ....
