First Day at Wizard School

5am.  Crrraaaack!  Wakey wakey!  It's wizarding time!

Wizarding textbook

First things first:  a cuppajo and a glance at the required reading in the dark while the rest of the world snoozes.

Vixen & I are in the Firebolts; Mona & Lizzie are in the Howlers.  The other group names are Spellbinders, Grrryfindor, Ravenpaw, Magical Mutts and Hufflehounds.

Because we arrived a bit late yesterday, we missed the official sorting hat ceremony.  We got to meet the rest of our group today.  Great group!

Today's classes:  distance and wraps.  Quills and parchment ready!

Enough with talking already.  Let's DO this!!!

BE the spoke
Jim Basic.  Professor of the Dark Arts.  Indeed!  'In this session students ... will learn the spells and potions ... (for) handling their dog at a distance'  YESSS!!!  We can't get enough of these potions!!

I was very happy with Vixen and her Gamblers drills.  Jim broke it down into easy pieces so that we all shone towards the end.  Nice.

Today's Jim-ism:  'This (particular) path is like a bicycle wheel.  Right?  What supports a bicycle wheel?  Spokes!  Be the spokesperson!'

Bwahahaha!

~Lunch was fantastic!  Giant salad smorgasbord (sans pickled fish).  Break time!~

Multiple backside threadles.  Cake and pie.
Professor John 'Albus' Nys.  Extreme Collection and tight turns.  'It's important ... that our dogs understand how to use their body to collect, jump and turn.'  Guy used to compete in Dragon Racing for 15 years.  And lived to tell about it.  (Sort of like muggles' barrel racing.)  He knows about collection from high speed!

We went through some great drills to learn how and where we can tighten our dogs' turns.  I'm looking forward to practicing some of the drills so I can hopefully send Vixen into a tight turn whether or not I am nearby.  That could come in handy with shark wrangling.

Vixen did great.  She is a blast.  We miss Jemima, but had FUN!

BE the blast
Long day.  It was cloudy and chilly, then sunny and hot.  We tired.
Shower and zzzzz time for all.
